The science of cellulite

Cellulite ( gynoid lipodystrophy ) has been around for centuries, but until recently not much time was devoted to the study of it. Because of this, it was difficult to determine exactly what was the cause of this frustrating condition. Cellulite was introduced to American culture by Vogue magazine in 1960 and was a big concern for many people, men and women, ever since. Although cellulite has had research done on it since its introduction, the research has been limited largely due to low technology. However, as technology advances, so does our understanding of the cause of cellulite and what you can do to help prevent it from affecting you.

In the early years of our consciousness with cellulite, people made assumptions about the cause of the disease. However, many of these claims are unfounded because they do not have the resources that we have now. As we are increasingly technologically advanced, more and more information is coming to light on the cause, and why some people are made and not others. This is particularly important because the more we discover what causes our body to be susceptible to cellulite, the more we can do to combat it.

Who said that science can not be sexy?
We should start with a brief history of this researched conclusion has been the source of cellulite. In 1978, the first reference cellulite regarding the science behind it, the researchers Scherwitz and Braun-Falco examined corpses to try to place what the cause was. They made demands that were both unfounded and that had some validity. Incorrectly, they believed that the cause of cellulite is pulling down the skin and fatty tissue by tissue strands called septae. However, it was found that it is quite the opposite, that cellulite is actually caused by the outward thrust of the grease on the skin, not the reverse. However, they found that men are not able to see the results according to pinch the skin unless they androgen deficient.

This information contributed greatly, although they did not know at the time, namely the fact that cellulite is caused in part by hormones. This explains one of the key aspects of cellulite; women are much more likely to be affected than men. In 1986, another pair of researchers, Markman and Barton discovered that the assumptions that the skin being pulled in was the cause of cellulite is wrong, but it was increasingly outwards fat, causing dimples in the skin. This new information has been promoted in 1991 by Lockwood, a researcher who determined that there were two types of cellulite, primary and secondary.

The anatomy of cellulite ...

Anatomy of Cellulite
primary cellulite is caused by the growth of fat cells that grow upward on the outer layer of the skin , causing the dimples which are representative of cellulite. secondary cellulite is one that is either caused by sun damage or extreme weight loss, leaving the loose skin. He also believed that if the surface layer of the skin has been broken, it allowed the fat to push up. Until recent research, the search for Lockwood was the most complete explanation for cellulite.

Before pursuing research that has been done in modern times, it is imperative to emphasize that we know that the formation of cellulite is more common in women. Indeed, any event of cellulite, about 98% are women. Until recently, there were misconceptions about why this happened, but we now know that it is very developed a fundamentally product in which a woman's body is different from a man. We know that cellulite is the product of adipose tissue (fat) pushing outward against the skin layers. Like fat pushes outward, it causes malformation of the skin cells on top thereof, which, in skin blister celluloid.

Obviously, it is clear that there are men and women with excess fat in the world, so why not the effect of cellulite women much greater than it made men? Part of it relates to the formation of fatty tissue under the skin. Men have the adipose tissue which are interleaved, allowing growth in a single mass, as well as the outward growth. However, women have fatty tissues that are placed in columns side by side. As the fat content is increased, these tissues and cells have nowhere to grow but up. As they grow up, they press against the skin and cause those nasty dimples that mean cellulite. This is further reinforced by the fact that men have thicker skin, more resistant, while women have skin that is thinner and less able to hold their shape when they adipose tissue pushing up against him.

However, the differences in men and women are much deeper than that. We have found, on the basis of information of Scherwitz and Braun-Falco, cellulite is also highly dependent on hormones. This not only explains why men are less likely to get cellulite, but also why the appearance of cellulite is so different between different women. We know that cellulite is generally found on the middle section of women, usually the abdomen, hips and thighs and hormones help explain.

Cellulite ... Another thing we can thank the hormones

estrogen causes cellulite Recent research has been done by Peter Pugliese and GE Pierard who provided the validity at this point as they found that cellulite is caused by sex hormones that interact with the fat and skin. This is proved by the observation where cellulite is most often formed, which is on the women in the midsection. The adipose tissue of the body is controlled by one of two systems: the metabolism and hormones. If we look at where the majority of cellulite appears, he becomes more obvious why cellulite occurs in those problem areas for women, beccause fat in the female vagina is regulated by hormones rather than metabolism. As we know, women produce high levels of estrogen that feed their reproductive system. The female reproductive system is located in the central part of women and regulates the ability to support the child and the lactation process.

As estrogen levels in women rise, so does the chance of cellulite. As we know, cellulite is much more likely to be found among postpubescently females and this is the result of the increased output of estrogen. However, estrogen levels are also very different between females, which explains why there are women who seem not to be done by cellulite. Since men are not being estrogen running through their bodies, which greatly reduces the likelihood of cellulite.

As time passes, we will continue to have researchers delve into the mystery of cellulite and maybe find a solution to those problems. However, what we have now is a very solid base and help stop not only the cellulite to occur, but also to deny the case of cellulite already underway.
